Creative Bookbinding for Inclusion
Overview
On October 23rd, Studio Eight hosted 15 participants from Casa São Vicente, individuals with cognitive or motor disabilities, for a creative binding workshop led by Aissa from Nomada Notebooks. The activity focused on creating personalized zines using their personal photographs. Each participant had the opportunity to intervene artistically, adding drawings and annotations to shape their own visual narratives
The workshop offered participants not only a hands-on experience in bookbinding but also an opportunity for personal expression, helping to enhance their creativity, fine motor skills, and emotional connection to their personal stories. By working with their own photographs and adding their own artistic touch, the participants explored new ways to engage with their memories and emotions in a safe and supportive environment.
